Title Cont. SENATE JUDICIARY CHAIRMAN LEAHY

Reform Government Surveillance released the following statement today on Attorney General Holder and Director of National Intelligence Clapper’s letter to Senate Judiciary Chairman Leahy:

The Reform Government Surveillance coalition is pleased to see Attorney General Holder and Director of National Intelligence Clapper make clear, in their letter to Judiciary Committee Chairman Leahy, that the USA FREEDOM Act would indeed enhance privacy, protect civil liberties and enhance transparency, while also preserving essential Intelligence Community capabilities. We agree entirely, and further believe that passage of this important legislation would be an important step toward building consumer trust in American technology companies.
